Salisbury, North Carolina
April 9th, 1866

Received this day of Col C A Gilley Supt Freedmen two barrels of flour and seventy two pounds of pork and bacon which I promise to pay Government price for to Col C. A. Gilley on order on or before the 1st of September 1866. I hereby acknowledge a lein on any crop I may raise in favor of the said Col Gilley and to secure to him or order the value of the rations as aforesaid.
