Col. O. Brown
Assist Commissioner of Freedmen Bureau Richmond Va

Dear Sir
Allow me to introduce you to Mr. J. B. Bonnelle who with his estimable lady has been in our employ for some time in North Carolina. He desire to engage in some business that may benefit the the freedmen while it may affect him a support. Should he open a store at a parish where supplies for the freedmen are needed at low. prices; we should not hesitate to trust him with such as we have to be sold on Commission.
Respectfully yours,
Wm. Geo. Hawkins
