If such a store is not desirable, or, could not be, in your opinion, conducted successfully in any part of Virginia, I would be willing to act as Supt of Labor, as Clerk, or in any capacity where I could make myself useful.

In N.C. I acted as Assist. Supt. on Roanoke Island for a time. But for the most part, had charge of the Freedmans store in New Berne. Was Supt. at the same time, for a while, of an evening school.

I could direct in some mechanical operation if required.
