Dr. Parker thinks, as you do, that it is not best to disturb the old first church edifice at present untill other churches are repaired and the people a little less naked, and starved, physically and intellectually.
I think so too, but I should like to be authorized to collect some money to repair the church in Fredricksburg, and others as needed; and to have a little money for other purposes as you may deem necessary
Now if you will please give this matter a few minutes of your personal attention, and give me a writing, with your own hand, of your approval and authorizing me so to do, and and indicating your direction. I shall immediately call on the Revs. Hepworth, Hale and Webb, who have promised me that they will call for money and clothing of their wealthy people, and others in Boston and vicinity.
