This will introduce to you J.G. Longly our agent for Virginia, who goes to confer with you in reference to our work & what you wish us to do in the way of teachers. We had agreed with the A.M. Association not to go to Hampden & that peninsula.

We are to retain what we have in Norfolk Let Mr Longly see the other districts & report what teachers are needed & what accommodations. I think we can send you 40 or 50, perhaps more — I think we can take one district. We would like that in [[strikethrough]]of[[/strikethrough]] which Petersburg & City Point are included. At City Point we propose conducting an Industrial & other Schools & an Orphan Asylum if you think it the best place for the Asylum — I suppose Richmond is to be common ground for all. We desire to send a few teachers [[strikethrough]]then[[/strikethrough]] there three or four good ones. We shall have to rely upon you for school buildings & homes for teachers
