Col. Whittlesey has communicated Mr Pond whom we have appointed to The Eastern District of N.C. & given him evry facility in his power to get over his district. It would be well for you to do the Same by Mr Longley as we pay his salary. Mr L is the brother of the Rev Mr Longly & was agent of the A.M.A. in N.C last year

We wish him & Mr Coleman to explore the field & inform us as soon as possible what we are to do — telegram recd — shall write you soon.
