Prof. Woodbury
Sup. of Freedmans School
for Virginia --

Dear Sir

I am desirous to have a personal interview with you in regard to the establishment of a school for Freedmen in Richmond under the auspices of Old School Pres. Church. I left, when in Richmond, a proposition for organizing a school on Church Hill that has I suppose been seen by you or your Sub Superintendent. I understand that it has been decided that the church I represent may have that position as our field of labor. but there are some modifications that I desire & with that view, I wish a personal interview. Can & will you arrange for such a meeting; I am living near the city & a note directed to me saying when you will be in New York, I will respond to. Please therefore inform me on the subject. Address me at Metuchen New Jersey. Give me two or three days notice if possible. Rev. Mr. Logan our Gen. Sec. informed me that he has written you on the subject but he desires that I should see you in addition & hence this note & desire to see you.

Very respectfully
Prof. Wm Hopkins
