Respected sir, I write to inform you that at the last meeting of the General Assembly of the Old School Presbyterian Church held at Pittsburgh Pa., there was a committee formed for the purpose of sending the blessings of Christian education to the colored freedmen of the South. I, together with two Lady assist[[strikethrough]]t[[/strikethrough]]ant are under their care and direction for the promotion of that object as Teachers, and I have been sent here by them to prepare the way and open a school in this town.
