Money should be sent, in Bank Checks or Drafts, payable to Joseph B. Collins, Treasurer, 40 Wall Street, New York; and all letters relating to the business of the Association, should be addressed to the appropriate Officers in their official capacity; while private letter should be endorsed "Personal."

which we propose establishing near Petersburg  Mr Lengley writes "Capt Barnes is establishing a camp some three miles out where he will furnish houses, land, rations & for an industrial school". We shall send a man & a good matron & 2 women, as soon as he reports all right. It may be that Rev Mr Barker is a good man for that place. Do we understand that you will furnish lumber & labor &c for the erection of a teachers Home & school house, should we decide to have one in Petersburg, & (which is) (very likely), we appropriating 3 or 5 Hundred Dollars. Mr Lengly says "the Bureau will put up a house if the society could appropriate from $300 to 500" "The Boston Secy has given this amt for one in Richmond". [[strikethrough]] we [[/strikethrough]] Perhaps it w'd be best to rent for a year. I shall hear more fully shortly from Mr Lengly. Say to Mr Colsman to proceed immediately to Norfolk to receive the teachers & open the schools. Prof Woodbury leaves here on Monday & I will communicate some things to him for you.
