We are meeting with difficulties heer in reference to Loomis; and thinking perhaps Capt Barnes may bring up the subject.  I will state in reference thereto which you will please communicate.

The 1st Af. Church was used by our [[So'n?]]. When wee came here we asked for is if the Trustees.  They wanted we should go to a church prayer meeting & bring it before the church.

They attempted to do so, but the Deacons & others told them "the church had nothing to do with it." "It had been voted into the hands of the Trustees to  dispose of &c."  Again Sunday morning they spoke of it - with a still stronger declaration to act in the
