At length we said we shall appeal to higher authority: for Col Brown told us that if we failed to get the aid we needed at Danville to write or come to him at once. It was surprising to see how changed his tone and manner toward us; he evidently did not want us to do that; and after a long tedious talk and excuses many he finally said "Ladies I shall be able to report to you in a few days what I can do. if Dr Lincoln will remove the Colored sick from that building into another, perhaps you could get the building" &c I think both
