Rev. R.M. Manly
Richmond, Va
Dear Sir,
Yours, of the 12th inst. is at and. You are at liberty to employ Mrs Jeuninap & daughter at thirty five ($35,) & twenty five ($25) dollars per month. They boarding themselves. This is what you propose, their commission shall be made out & sent to them soon.

You are authorized to expend twenty dollars, or thereabouts to fit up rooms for the accommodation of pupils at the Chimboug field . This better be done without delay.

You can secure the services of Scott Guathmey , as per request. You will best know how he shall be employed.

Whatever others may do, this association prides itself in not laboring for or against any one denomination of Christians, but for the best interests of the colored people--for their intellectual, moral, & religious culture, & hence, for all denominations, not one only. Ours is a Catholic society in the truest sense of the word. Therefore, all who labor under the auspices of this association, should evince a spirit of liberality & good will towards all Christians, of every name.

Most respectfully yours,
James J. Wooesey
