Dear Friend,

Thy receipt for Charges of transportation of Books is received. Unhappily a letter from Lynchburg just received this morning informes [[informs]] that they have not arrived. The Bearer Chas. W. McMahon [[?]] is going out as a teacher to Lynchburg; - Please put him in the way to follow up the books if possible so that he may secure their reaching their destination with him and greatly oblige thine very respectfully
