N.Y. Nov. 14th. 65.

My dear Sir:
Please find inclosed ten dollars - the amt. which You so kindly put at my Service. I would have remitted it from Washington, but could not without borrowing from Paul to pay Peter. I much regret my inability to see Col. Brown as I promised. I cd. not call in office hours, and did not like to visit him out of them.

I had the hour of a very cordial interview, though brief, with the President. I am sure he is trying to equal the times. May God help him.

Establishing ladies' auxiliaries in this State will probably be my work this winter.

With many thanks,
and Kindest regards,
Yours, truly,
Crammond Kennedy.
