His salary is $30 - per month. Would it not be well to send you sufficient funds to pay all our Teachers, or do you think M Walker has sufficient business tact to manage this part of the work.
Please advise us. I am pleased to hear that school matters are doing so well in the State under your judicious management.  I wish you had more power and much more means to do with.
By the way; advise our well-to-do colored friends in the state, not to spend [[cross-out]] too [[/cross-out]] so much money holding conventions & in travelling. One of the wisest things they could do, in my opinion, is to unite their means and secure school lots in every principal city in the South & to do it at once. This alone will give any stability to these educational efforts. Get good building sites, the building will follow in due time. The teachers for many years can & will be furnished by northern benevolence.
We have now in the field over 200 teachers - 210 I believe - at an expense of over $100,000 -
