Dear Bro.'

Yours of the 9th inst. is recd - shall give due consideration to all you say & thank you for it. The last note recd from Mr Walker was quite acceptable in spirit & I have no doubt he is a good fellow. I must do Barker the justice to say that it was the "printers" mistake that put him principal of Chimborazo schools last month. All this will be put right this month. Mr John Walker is put down principal. Perhaps I did not scrutinize his report orders as I should. His taking rooms & boarding himself is on his own motion. It is a little more expensive then boarding & we shall request him to return to the boarding style of living. Some other little things has been reputed to us & a heavy word of caution may not be amiss. I have just received the invoice from him & refer it to you to report upon & give your opinion before I bring it before the Committee. Tell Miss Campbell when you are at liberty - to kiss for me if your wife does not object that by some blunder down stairs the package for her & the other teachers (Christmas presents) was put in a box directed to Capt Stuart Barnes Petersburg with directions to send to Richmond there were some other packages I believe to go there
