Being thus informed, I could not, and do not now, see how any material advantage is gained by a report to this Commission. (which I understand is not "National,") from schools of the A.M. Association, as this Ass'n declined joining this Commission, and is in no way, save in sympathy, connected with it.
The A.F.A. Commission surely does not wish to report, as its own, work done by others. Maybe I am ignorant or misinformed. Permit me then to ask; - Do not all schools for freedmen in Virginia report to the Bureau? And to you as its school head? And if you, and other state superintendents supply the War Department with your Summary, is not that all ?- and properly classified?
