Mr. R.M. Manly
Richmond Va.

Dear Sir,
In reply to yours of 2d. inst. which came to hand this morning I am instructed to say to you that in disposing of the supplies on hand you are to be guided by the wants and the merit of the applicant without distinction as to color.

Miss M.E Hill of Petersburg sends an appeal for clothing and S.S. books. I intend to send something from this place, but if you have an overplus why not spare her part of your overstock.

I wrote to Miss Cooke this P.M. with a check, directing my letter to one and making the check payable to another. It will be all right I hope.

My respects to Mrs. M. and the other denizens in your domicil.

Cordially, yours
E.C. Estes
