I saw Mr McKim yesterday - while he fully approved of the prospect of some one to represent the Bureau at Boston - he felt unauthorised to invite any one from the fact, which I confess I overlooked that the meeting was called by the Boston Society & we i.e. the other Branches are simply invited by them to the conference. I should have telegraphed to Rev Mr Chapin Boston. There will no doubt be a meeting of the Excom. of the Commission, to  whom all these matters will be referred

I hope you will send an abstract or better copies in full of your late reports from all the districts. I leave for Boston tonight & will stop on my return to see N.B. Chase, who I learn is sick at home. I will write you soon again  Whiting wants to leave, please see what it means — put some one in his place, or confer with us about it. I am afraid he will
