NEW YORK BRANCH
FREEDMANS UNION COMMISSION,
No. 76 John Street.
New York, Dec. 13th 1866

Rev. R.M. Manly,
Supt. &c. Richmond, Va.

Dear Sir:- In answer to your favor of the 10th. inst. I am happy to say that the Govt. has pd. for the transportation of our Richmond teachers. I am having the new form printed and shall soon send copies to Petersburgh, which you will doubtless be kind enough to sign, and forward to this office.
We cannot at present send colored male teachers. If you give me the particulars of openings for white teachers — ladies — we can send you a few more. If you can provide soon for the accommodation of any such in Virginia, please inform me at your earliest convenience.
With kindest regards to all the teachers in the home,
Yours truly
Crammond Kennedy
