Nov 8 Sun. Mr N. & I set 2 traps for cottontails & 2 for rats last night & got a skunk out of the 4. Broke camp about 11 A.M. & hauled about 4 miles & went into camp near tide water. I set 8 traps for rats this evening. Mr Nelson got 2 cottontails this evening.
Mon Nov 9 Caught 3 rats last night. Mr Nelson & another young fellow went out today & got a cottontail & a jack rabbit. Mr N & I set a lot of traps this evening for various animals. The weather is still fine & warm a little cool at night & early in the morning. The face of the country is very rolling but a good country for stock raising & grain growing wherever enough land can be found level enough to be plowed. The principal productions are wheat, barley, corn, potatoes beans melons & orchard fruits. No Irrigation
