2 nights to trap mice. Got 8 sitomys from near base of hills apparently the same or differing very slightly from larger kind found on the plains here, 1 Heteromys same as at La Parada & Ahualulco & in same situation (busy banks & dry wash) & 3 small Sitomys common in this valley.

In the hills also we got blue jays some thing the same as at Patzenaro, Snowbirds from hills appear decidedly different being [[?]] about head & more rufous on back & wings Several other kinds found at Patzenaro were noted. A few whip-poor wills [[whippoorwills]] were heard at night.

I arrived in San Luis Sept 5th at 10 AM and came back to Jesus Maria to trap Dipodomys, getting back to latter place at 7 15 P.M. Slept in the station & today hunted signs of my game. Have put a good line of traps Birds seen about Jesus Maria today.
