there are two kinds of pine one with very small cone & one with very large cone.  through this lower pine belt are alders and scattered madronas & oaks.  Next come the firs and then a pine belt reaching to the timber line. The upper pine belt is all probably all of one species which bears a small code the leaves being short and stiff.  The timber line on this Mt. is probably about alt. 1,500 or 800 ft.  For the fir belt the trees are covered with moss on all sides & on the entire Mt. all is very damp.
