place situated in a rather barren looking region.  Adjoining the town is a large tract of land which is planted to corn & barley usually.  This year both crops were a complete failure on account of the drought.  It seems to be even dryer here than at Jalpan and the whole country is very rocky.

Veg.  The veg, today all the way was very similar to that of the hills at Jalpan.  

Ficas, a few cacti, and numerous species of rather low growing trees now laregly fare of leaves.

Town Jalpa looks like Jalpan in lower body of note, but Jalpau up higher. (Jalpa is the name of the town, according to google) I would say both look like Jalpan
