Dear Sir

Your favor of the 23rd (last month) was duly received, last week. I agree with you Mr Manly,  that the novel character of any new enterprise, proves a wonderful power of attraction and that its force dies, as soon as the novelty wears off. But I think our work will prove an exception to this rule, & for these reasons 1st because  the humble efforts already put forth in behalf of their school evidence an interest, which I think will not flag. The majority are very poor and have large families
