I hope you will not think me too presuming or that I am Trespassing on your Time and patience too much in soliciting your perusal of this note. I am frequently solicited by the coloured population. in different neighbourhoods of the country in which I reside To Teach a school and as I believe such an institution would be of infinite benefit to that class I wish to engage in the matter forthwith.

I have been referred to you by the Provo Marshal at the Bowling Green as being the proper person who would give me the desired information in the first place I wish to know if the Government allows a salary to teachers & how much & if the teacher has to board himself if rations would not be furnished him by the Government sometimes it would be difficult to get board.
