General,
Rev. C. Robinson, colored clergyman, is at work in the District of Lieut McNulty, and says that there are a large number of freedmen in the vicinity of Crooked Run. They have subscribed $300.00 towards having a school for children and adults. They want a school house: doubtless you can facilitate them having some sort of building in which to hold the school.
Mr Robinson says that Lieut McNulty sent an application to you with regard to the matter, but has received no reply; and therefore Mr. Robinson has come to Washington, and he consulted me with
