I came directly to this place according to your direction. I found the Freedmen here waiting to welcome me to their service. They were greatly disappointed and apear to be much grieved to know that the Bureau has furnished teachers free to so many of their neighbours while they have been wholy neglected and are now required to pay their teacher's wages.
