Your communication directing me in answer to my application for &c 7vo. to aid in building a Schoolhouse for the freed people of our town & country to give my attention to the remark of Rev'd R M Manly Supt Education has been carefully examined & in answer I simply state that the Church in this place is the accommodation which is offered to the children, and that church is the property of the Baltimore Conference & is under c/o Trustees to hold further use & the benches which were provided by the Bureau are now in the weather having no place to put them. I now tell the Bureau officials plainly unless something is done which we may provide a place to teach all our labor will have been lost. I invite the attention of the worthy Superintendent to the
