addition to the population -

Many colored families are now settling on the borders of this estate who will need school accommodations at the commencement of the school year - It is furthermore believed that if the Bureau can give the assistance above required, now there need be no interruption in the school even in case no benevolent society could be found to support the two teachers that will be needed after the next school year. It is not believed that the assistance now obtained from benevolent societies can be dispersed with until after the close of the next school year. The ability of the colored people to help themselves is dependant to a great extent upon the crops now growing. Should these prove abundant, they may be able to assist in the education of their children.
