I had no purpose of giving up the school as Capt Connolly supposed. The Fr are too much disposed to learn up against the Govt & the northern Ch & I was trying to teach them to be self reliant The offer of Mr White presiding elder, to give them preaching & a school free of charge was a bid they would not be likely to decline. Whether it was courteous to reach it without consulting me is a question I'll leave for others to decide.
