We came here among entire Strangers, excepting some business acquaintance with the Genl. and though the many Northern people about are kind and social - and very many of this class were anxious to have a school here - and appointed a school committee from among themselves - none of this school committee have been to the school since we came here, or given us any aid. And we have found ourselves as far as any aid or sympathy was concerned entirely ignored by the Bureau - it is true the Genl said "Send to us for anything you want" but we made some small requisitions which were not attended to. And I asked full a month ago, if they would be kind enough to get us Transportation out here from home and find they have done nothing about it. And I therefore sent last week to Mr Washburn
