Supt of Education.

Dear Sir, I have the honor to inform you that the school term at this place will close with the present month. The Teacher, Miss Eastman will leave on August 1st, for two months vacation, and on her return will re-organize her school in our new building, which will shortly be completed. It is expected on her return that she will have from one hundred to one hundred and fifty scholars, and if the same success attends her efforts in the future as it has in the past, we may expect great and gratifying results. It is quite probable that the New York branch of the Freedmans Union Commission will commission an assistant to accompany her on her return, which will add greatly to the success of the enterprise. They now have the subject under advisement. over.
