NEW YORK BRANCH
FREEDMANS UNION COMMISSION,
No. 30 Vesey Street.
(LATE NATIONAL FREEDMAN'S RELIEF ASSOCIATION.)
New York, Sept 2nd, 1867

Dear Mr. Manly: We are going to commission Miss Hancock. She would like to be associated with Miss Canedy, and, if I remember our conversation with the latter correctly, she would be pleased with that arrangement. Miss H would prefer, I think, to board herself, and I shall ask the Teachers Committee to allow her to do so. I write to you now to let you know that if you believe Miss Canedy and Miss Hancock will do well together in the Normal School, we shall be satisfied. If not, and you have another candidate, please name her. Apart from the matrimonial prospections, what would you say to Mrs Fisher if she wanted to try the Misses Cooke at Alex?
Very sorry to hear that you are unwell.
Sincerely Yr Friend
Crammond Kennedy
Cor. Sec.
