Sir,

I have the honor to request an appropriation of four hundred $400, dollars, for the purpose of building a School house, at Jeffersonville, in Tazewell county, Va.

Permit me to add, that I trust the Asst. Commissioner will not feel that it is necessary to make the appropriation any thing less then asked for, as it is utterly impossible to buy a lot & build such a house, as will meet the wants of a school in any of these county towns, with less than a thousand ($1000) dollars, & when the government has done all that it can, it bears a large margin to be filled outside.

I would also request an appropriation of the same amount, for the same
