Dear Sir,

I regret to say that serious illness in the family will occasion a delay - which I trust will be very short - in my return to Richmond I have requested nd received permission from the Commissioner to Ofer my return until the result of the indisposition can be ascertained, which must be shortly, from the nature of the disease. Will you have information given from the pulpits of the colored churches to this effect as there is some reason to think that some of my pupils may leave the city if they think I am not
