Dear Sir
Your favor of the [[strikethrough]] 26 [[/strikethrough]] 25th covering two applications for teachers in Va.
We will endeavor to supply the demand at Powhatan, if not the other, but I can not yet promise.

I yesterday wrote declining the service of a man living in Ohio that would answer Mr. Maddox's demand. I will write him again to day, but it may be too late, as he had two applications waiting his acceptance.

Yours truly,
Geo. Whipple, Sec.
