Rev. R.M.Manly,

Dear Sir,
I enclose to you a letter from Mr. Hovey asking us to furnish a teacher to Col Woods of Nelson Co Va.

We are perfectly willing to send a teacher on the terms proposed if Col Woods is a proper and responsible person in whose family it would be prudent to place a lady - but we do not feel sure from Mr. Hovey's letter that he is so. If you know him and can endorse him will you forward my letter, or if you can obtain such information as you think it safe to act upon.
