Sir, you may remember me as one of the canvassers employed by the Union League of Phil to operate in your state. I was quite sick when I reported at your Head Quarters on my return home. I have fully recovered from my fever, and have secured books, maps, and stationery sufficient, to supply a school of forty-to-fifty scholars. I did propose to organize a school in King & Queen County near Mr. L. Bulman's at little Plymouth but the house I proposed to rent was let to another after it had been promised to me, to defeat my enterprise.
