Richmond Va. Novbr 12th
Col. Brown.

Dear Sir:
I propose to teach a night school for the benefit of such colored persons, who in consequence of their daily employment are debarred that privilege in the day. But in order to do so I shall be compelled to ask your assistance in furnishing a room and the necessary furniture.
Should you give me this aid I am confident that I can establish a school that will ultimately advance to the interest of the laboring colored man. Hoping to hear from you at once
I am very respectfully
T. J. Childrey
