Rev. R.M. Manly
Dear Sir
We find, much to our regret, that the Society supporting Miss Cornelia Jones, is unable to continue its subscriptions & we therefore think of withdrawing her. The question is whether we shall remove her & send another teacher from some less important point, or remove the latter, for we must do one or the other, the state of our funds not allowing us to undertake the support from our general receipts of any new teacher. Will you let me know at once if Miss Jones is so valuable a teacher that you would greatly regret her loss, for if not, we should prefer of course to send her home, rather than any one else because she must have known that her Society could not support her beyond February 1st & therefore probably expect to be relieved.
Do you happen to know the address of the colored man where Mr. Kennedy recommended to you a short time since?
