Powhatan VA. Jan. 30th 1868

Rev. Mr. Manly
Dear Sir
The Lincoln Primers you sent me are all gone, and I wish you to send me fifty more, for I know of no books, that meet our wants so well. And I wish to have all use the same books as far as I can. If you can not send them gratis I will pay you for them. We have a school of nearly one hundred scholars, and is prospering finely
Very truly yours
John Glen
