Dear Sir;
In compliance with your request for report of Normal School in this District,- contained in your letter of Feb 18th, I hereby respectfully submit the following brief report.

A Normal School was first organized, at Charlottsville, on March 23rd 1867. Its members were composed of members from two other schools that had been in operation, one, (in charge of a native teacher) about 6 months, the other, in charge of the present very efficient teacher of the Normal School, Miss Anna Gardner, of Nantucket Mass, about 3 months.
