About six weeks ago I was informed by Col. J.W. Jordan that he intended to open another school in Farmville. I replied that my school afforded ample instruction to all the colored people in the town and vicinity. He said his real object was a church, and that the Bureau would not entertain an application unless it was connected with a school.
