In Portsmouth City, three Ladies from the Baptist Society are teaching in a building, known as the Black Smith Shop.  Those are self sustaing Teachers receiving a small amount of aid in the way of fuel, from the pupils, This people are exceedingly poverty stricken and may of them wrongfuly oppresed, and seemingly, all the more because of their misery and ignorance.
