Dear Sir:

I applied for transportation yesterday, for a young lady to come from my native county in N.Y. to teach a school in this place. The colored people will soon have sufficient money to pay a teachers board. The lady proposed to come & teach one term of six, or eight months, without compensation, if her transportation will be furnished, & board paid. She is an old teacher of Free schools and by the way a first grade Teacher, is about 25 years of age & a Christian Lady. She has taught seven or eight year in the free schools of N.Y.

Her name is Miss Minnie A. Graham. If the transportation is furnished her she will come at once.

She will come independent of any Society or Church influence, As I have
