Lynchburg. Va
March 12th 1868

Rev. R. M. Manly
Supt, Ed, Richmond Va.

Dear Sir
I am very anxious to build a school house here in Lynchburg and I want aid from the Bureau. Will you please give me a letter of introduction to General Howard for I desire to call upon and urge the necessity of building one here. I will ask you to please use your influence for the same purpose. If I am not going about this matter in a proper manner I would thank you very much to set me right.

Hoping to hear from you immediately

I remain
Very Respectfully
J.M. Stradling
