Such is our estimate of the need & our confidence in the Bureau, that if we could command the means we would cheerfully duplicate the former grant. But the Same days y's was received, a like request came from E. A. Ware of Ga. We thought it best to divide the grant giving to you 2,000 Primers & to him 2,000 of wh grant I notify him also by this mail Whatever [[?]] of ch[[?]] we can receive from you or yr Subordinates of the good done is an investment for in the sympathies of the Christian public & will produce compound interest to accrue to the profit of the needy freedmen We hope in due time to hear from you, the cases we send to 914 Main St Richmond [[strikethrough]] St [[/strikethrough]] subject to yr call or order 2.
