Charlottesville, April 11, 1868.
Major M. S. Hopkins:-
Agent of Freedman's Bureau:-

Sir:-
I thank you for giving me the opportunity of dropping a line to you since, during our interview I could not say all I would like to have said.
I trust, however, that my views were expressed in a manner sufficiently explicit for you to understand how the teachers here regard the matter under consideration: but there is much relative to Mr. Richmond, himself and Mr. George of which it would be well for you to be informed before making a final decision with regard to the disposition of Government property in this place.
