We have, in this city, many wealthy and benevolent men, who take an active interest in the freedmen, and I think could get support for a pretty good Normal School, provided the Bureau could give some encouragement.  At any rate I mention the matter to you, hoping that you can point me to an opening.  If there is a place at Richmond, I think I should prefer there to anywhere else. 

As I am just leaving the city for a few days I now write some what hurriedly.  Hoping to hear from you at an early day, I have the honor to be
